Neurodiverse Therapy

Our brains process information in diverse ways. As clinicians who understand neurodivergent needs, it’s important to clarify that we do not treat Autism or ADHD. Instead, our approach is to affirm and empower you toward self-acceptance, autonomy, and agency. We support you in learning about and understanding your unique needs.

Using a trauma-informed lens, we collaborate with you through a combination of cognitive, mindfulness, and somatic approaches. Additionally, we offer assessment services, counseling, and referrals for medication management within the scope of our practice for both regular and ongoing clients.

Neurodiverse therapy is an approach to mental health care that recognizes and respects the diverse ways brains and nervous systems function. Rather than viewing neurodivergent differences—such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other neurological variations—as “disorders” to be “cured,” neurodiverse therapy focuses on understanding, acceptance, and support tailored to each individual’s unique needs and strengths.

This form of therapy emphasizes:

  • Strengths-Based Approaches: Highlighting and building on a person’s natural skills and abilities.
  • Acceptance and Self-Compassion: Fostering self-understanding and reducing shame or stigma associated with neurodivergence.
  • Individualized Strategies: Developing coping skills, emotional regulation techniques, and life skills suited to the client’s neurological profile.
  • Collaboration and Empowerment: Working with clients to set goals and navigate challenges in ways that honor their neurodiverse ways of thinking and experiencing the world.

Neurodiverse therapy aims to support individuals in thriving on their terms, improving quality of life, and fostering self-acceptance within a supportive, understanding environment.
